Book Description:

Peace among the clans has been nonexistent for the past centuries. But now that clan Lairds have decided to summon the God-touched people from their magical Isle to perform the rituals of Beltane to bless the peace talks between the clans, peace is within reach.

Melanie is honored to be chosen as one of six maidens to represent the Goddess at this important event. She is meant to be a vessel for the power of the Goddess while forgetting the failures of humanity during the festival. She knows should be concentrating on her part as a Maiden of the Hunt, yet she cannot banish the handsome Scot from her mind. Running in the Hunt is as sacred as the Goddess herself, and should her desires be known, there could be dire consequences for her and the clansman. However, she can’t find the will to deny his pull.

The mists of the Black Mountains enhance the excitement of their forbidden love while providing an escape from the Islanders encampment. Can they give in to their desires at the expense of their destinies?

Especially once The Sorcerer discovers their dalliance…

Book Review:

Melanie is a priestess in training who has been chosen to be a maiden for her Goddess. But she has no idea the real intentions of the Sorcerer has in store for her. When she and the other chosen one arrive at Black Mountain, Melanie finds herself in the beginnings of falling for Adam. But like all good love stories there must be forces determined to keep the heroine and hero apart.

Like Melanie, Adam too has no clue what was in store for him when the chosen maidens came to him and his clan. The clan men escorted the chosen ones to their territory. On the way over, Adam and Melanie slowly but sure get to know each other and they soon begin a bond. A bond that is determined to keep these two together.

Melanie is soon conflicted . . . Does she follow her heart or her head? She was born to be one of the chosen ones of her Goddess. But once meeting Adam, she can’t help but fall under his spell.
Adam is trying to keep a level head, but there’s just something about Melanie that brings out the animal in him. The animal that wants to claim his mate. The animal that will kill any man who dares to come between him and his mate, Melanie.

The Sorcerer isn’t about to let some insignificant man take what his. Melanie was and is the one he plans to have claimed by Adam’s rival clan.
But what the Sorcerer didn’t count on was that his maiden wasn’t going to let herself be offered by no one else but Adam.

Both Adam and Melanie suffers for their actions. Each are punished severely by their mentors/elders.

The Sorcerer drags the maidens back home. But Adam isn’t about to let his mate go.

Okay, this was short novel about two people who lives changed the instance they first met.
Melanie and Adam are two of a kind. Both fiercely protective of one another and despite the odds manage to find true happiness together.

Heather Long brings readers a new fantasy and sci-fi book, Remembering Ashby. It introduces readers of a different time where love and magic are truly alive. Where even though there is danger, that love and magic are more powerful combination.

What else can I say besides how much this great book, Remembering Ashby encourages me to discover more sci-fi and fantasies.

While there is terrible situations that happen, the good will prevail in the end.

And isn’t that what makes an awesome ending?

I give Remembering Ashby 4 Stars!
