Book Description

Is the enemy of her enemy a friend…or a beast?

Lord Ashworth is scarred by a night of terror years ago that left his face in ruins and his life in shreds. He hides in Silverstone Manor, using rumors that paint him as a horrible, murdering monster to keep visitors at bay. Yet he can’t shake the feeling that the rumors might be true. He tells himself it’s better this way. If his memories ever resurface, at least he will be the only one hurt by them.

The woman on his doorstep, however, simply refuses to fear him. That’s not only an oddity, it’s a threat to his secret…and his heart.

Vivian Suttley has seen the face of evil more than once in her young life. She’s on the run from the latest, a cruel man determined to force her to marry him. Whatever the whispers about the reclusive Ashworth, surely it’s nothing compared to the bleak, violent future she leaves behind.

Ashworth saved her once before, and he’s her last hope for refuge. Yet she wonders if she’s truly safer at Silverstone—or if she has just made the biggest mistake of her life.

Warning: This book contains a lot of sexual tension and a several sexual scenes, have a fan ready!

Book Review:

Vivian Suttley is running away from it all. She disappeared from her home after learning the real reason for her father wants to marry. Her only hope is to return to the one man that saved Vivian’s life years before. Now she needs Charles now more than ever. What she did not count on was that he needed just as much as she did.

Lord Ashworth, Charles is man of wealthy means who could have any woman he wanted .. That is if he wanted to, but Charles rather isolates himself from the world. There

Vivian had heard of the rumors regarding ‘the monster.’ Nevertheless, that is not going deter Vivian from her mission to marry Lord Ashworth. Even though Charles has physical scars, she knows he is not the scary monster the townsfolk make him out to be.

The more time she spends with Charles--the more she comes to realize there is something special between them. She just has to convince Charles of it. The sparks between them are thick enough to cut with a knife.

Charles is uncomfortable with Vivian’s presence. Worried about Vivian’s safety, Charles refuses to be alone with her. Not even his meddlesome mother will convince Charles to marry Vivian. No matter how beautiful Vivian is. There is just no way will he be putting a woman through hell by marrying her. Too bad, he did not count on two different women determined to marry him. Who can he possibly chose?

Leslie Dicken has created a new gothic and Victorian romance novel. In Beauty Tempts the Beast, we are introduced two intriguing characters of Vivian and Charles. They both have internal issues to deal with it. Yet they both discover that there is more than meets the eye regarding each other.

Both Charles and Vivian are unsettled about each other. They have many issues to get through. It does not help that there past has returned. Neither knows that their haunted pasts are intertwining with each other.

I have been known not to like anything written from Victorian and historical genres. Yet Leslie Dicken has created something real special here that can make more than reader change their mind about these genres. I can definitely say, I would not mind reading more historical/gothic novels by Leslie Dicken.

Charles may say he does not a woman to interrupt his solitude but his actions say differently. With each caress and kiss he gives Vivian, Charles is the one becoming seduced.

He cannot but question just why Vivian responds to his touches. Slowly but sure he comes to enjoy each moment Charles spends with Vivian. In addition, just like that the author brings on drama.

Charles’ former fiancĂ©e returns to win him back. He comes up with a plan to use Vivian to get Lady Katherine off his back. Lady Katherine is not going to let a little nobody stop her from marrying Charles. Katherine will use whatever trick necessary to ruin Charles’ plans to marry Vivian. Even the trick called blackmail.

Upon Martin’s arrival, each one of these characters past comes crashing down around them. They discover that what they thought to be true turns out to be false. The characters of Beauty Tempts the Beast true nature comes to light to the readers.

However, will be at a cost to high for Vivian and Charles to pay?

Beauty Tempts the Beast is new twist to woman falling for the ’beast’. The sexual tension alone is sure to raise readers temperatures.

I give Beauty Tempts the Beast a rating of 5 Stars.
